I am a physiotherapist and podiatrist with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, specializing in sports physiotherapy, advanced biomechanics, and manual therapy. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working at high-level sporting events, such as the Rio 2016 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Additionally, I have participated in over 22 international events, held in 12 different countries, including beach volleyball world championships in Germany, the Netherlands, and Mexico. My experience in these elite sports environments has allowed me not only to gain a global perspective on the physical needs of athletes but also to effectively apply my academic training in challenging clinical contexts. Since 2012, I have been leading the biomechanics department at RED Tenerife. In this role, I have had the opportunity to closely collaborate with top-level athletes from renowned teams such as CB Canarias, Real Club Náutico, and CD Tenerife, optimizing their physical performance through the use of advanced technologies and personalized treatments. In 2024, I decided to take a step forward in my professional career and founded my own physiotherapy, podiatry, and rehabilitation center, Avanza Salud. Located in the heart of Tenerife, at this center, I am fully dedicated to providing private care to patients, applying the most innovative techniques in the fields of physiotherapy, biomechanics, and podiatry to offer effective and personalized treatments that enhance physical performance and accelerate patient recovery. In the academic field, since 2017, I have been a professor at the Universidad Europea de Canarias, where I teach key subjects such as "Special Techniques in Physiotherapy I and II" within the Physiotherapy Degree program. Over the years, I have had the honor of supervising numerous final degree projects, some of which focus on advanced topics such as percutaneous neuromodulation (PNM), dry needling, and other innovative techniques in physiotherapy. My work at the university allows me to collaborate closely with students in both their practical and academic training. In terms of my academic background, I hold a Master's degree in Podiatric Research from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, as well as an Expert degree in Applied Statistics for Health Sciences from the UNED, which has strengthened my ability to carry out rigorous, data-driven clinical research. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. My research focuses on pain management in oncology patients, with the goal of developing therapies that improve their quality of life by providing effective solutions for chronic pain management. Throughout my career, I have not only focused on clinical practice and teaching but have also actively participated in scientific dissemination. I have organized and participated in various outreach activities, such as the "Science Week," an annual event at the Universidad Europea de Canarias where students present their final degree and master’s projects, allowing them to share the results of their research and defend their projects before the academic community. Additionally, I had the opportunity to organize the "I Sports Physiotherapy Conference," which featured national and international speakers and gathered numerous professionals in sports physiotherapy from all over Spain. My goal in these events has always been to share the knowledge I have gained over the years and to promote research in my field, contributing to the advancement and development of physiotherapy, biomechanics, and podiatry at both local and national levels.
