Zusammenfassung

El interés sobre los determinantes y preferencia de consumo de productos locales ha ido aumentando paulatinamente durante los últimos años, llegando a provocar que se le preste una gran atención desde el ámbito académico, político y empresarial. Uno de los factores clave de este interés, ha sido la mayor concienciación y preocupación de los consumidores por el medio ambiente y la sostenibilidad que está llevado a que se valoricen los productos agroalimentarios locales.Son evidentes los beneficios que las producciones agroalimentarias locales producen en la comunidad, pues ayuda a la economía agrícola local, a conservar el paisaje rural y a reducir emisiones de CO2 del transporte, entre otros. Por otra parte, son muchos los estudios que hacen referencia a cómo la compra de productos locales ayuda directamente a estimular el comercio y el empleo locales, proporcionan ingresos adicionales a las comunidades locales y generan un efecto multiplicador que beneficiará a la economía local.Sin embargo, los productos locales compiten con producciones foráneas en los distintos canales comerciales y no siempre consiguen una buena posición y ventaja competitiva.Uno de los productos locales agrícolas de mayor importancia en Canarias es el vino por diversos motivos. Representa el cultivo con mayor superficie cultivada, contribuyendo de forma muy importante a la conservación paisajística que tiene efectos directos sobre el atractivo turístico de las islas y en la satisfacción de los residentes con su territorio. Tiene un impacto relativamente importante en el empleo y en la economía, representa valores tradicionales fundamentales de la cultura tradicional canaria, genera un efecto multiplicador directo e indirecto en el sector turístico. etc..Sin embargo, la cuota de mercado de vino local en el consumo de vino en Canarias, sigue dejando margen para una mejora importante y muchos años la producción local no consigue comercializarse en su totalidad.En este contexto se desarrolla el presente estudio que analiza los hábitos de consumo de vino de la población residente, así como los frenos e impulsores hacia el consumo de vino local. Además, se analiza el efecto de la COVID-19 en el consumo de productos locales en general y en el vino en particular.
