Résumé

The present study intends to take a holistic approach to the secularized monastery of Monsalud, its historical vicissitudes and patrimonial trajectory to the present day. The intention of seeking diverse approaches from perspectives as disparate as archeology, law, archival science, anthropology or economics, is to have a broad spectrum analysis horizon surpassing the classic historicist visions for a vision from heritage management that contributes for this type of space to become sustainable again from an socio-economic point of view. With this initial approach, a series of questions can be asked as a working hypothesis. First of all, what has derived from the management of the monastery. Second, how are public and private policies of cultural heritage managed, its interconnection and its reflection in rural areas? On a more specific scale, how are Cistercian monasteries administered, be it religious, secular, public or private?..
